till now we have not seen such detailed explanation in visa bulliten. Some thing to be feel good about.
Regarding EB2 spillover; i think their main problem with quarterly spillover is to move both EB2I and EB2C to the same priority date. If the spillover quantity is so less.
From one of the privious pdf from USCS number of EB2I applicants between between 22JAN05 and 01MAY05 were nearly 4K. I don't think there can ever be 4000 splillovers to EB2 in a single quarter. Remember spillover from EB1 to EB2 can only happen during the year end and quarterly spillover only includes intra catogiry.

I consider FOIA is a multifold success. Not only we achieved milestone 1 of $5K, we were successful enough to wake up members to do something after long time. Why do you think the very same members were sleeping? I don't believe IV Core was not doing anything in last few months but members always felt that there is no plan of action from IV. There is nothing worst could happen to us just by disclosing our plan of actions in controlled way like:
1. <<ABC>> is preparing document for final data information.
2. <<XYZ>> is evaluating other options how we could retrieve this information.
3. <<DEF>> is understanding how FOIA works and how long it will take us to get data and what will be the best option to get it earlier.
4. <<MMM>> is working on funding drive for this.
There is no reason to hide even this kind of information. But if we do this, members understand what we are doing at high level.

I totally agree. It is not a question of being transparent Vs secretive, it just gives us all a sense of purpose and direction.
Also, information like how much IV is spending on lobbying on a monthly basis ? As this information is publicly available (in fact Sanju could find it by searching for under 10 mins and can be googled),why can't it be displayed on the website ?

Which state are you in? Try other means of financing for the car. Sometimes the dealers themselves have options but might be a % or two higher.
There was a previous post regarding admisibility of EAD as one of the documents for DL. You might want to search for that post. I asume you dont have an H1b, right?
I am on H1 and I140 approved. Bank of american denied my car loan. Infact Honda Finance too denied my loan. Finally I had to go with Credit union who gave me very good APR for my excellent credit history. So there is a way out guys ..we just have to live with it untill we get our GC

That is what my law firm told me. Just an FYI.. I did file my I485 in june. Today I called the law firm to check whether they got my Receipt number. That is when I was told this. I wish that is true. Usually they give accurate info. They even told me that July VB will be revised (within 10 days after the release.) So I wish this time also this becomes true so every one can be benifited.

For all those who are upset with the House hearing, please take it easy. Please do not expect the hearing to discuss the details of each and every GC applicant's case. The objective of the hearing was to bring the folks involved in visa bulletins and GC processing, and make them all publically say and agree that Lofgren-Sensenbrenner bill will not flood the country with new people on the borders but at the same time since the federal agencies did not do their job properly, so it would make sense to recapture the visa numbers, and that's it.
I think that this objective was achieved pretty handsomely without much opposition. So everybody was on the same page, other than Ranking member King, whose job in such meetings is to oppose whatever the committee chair is proposing. Rep. King did not have much to say as Rep. Sensenbrenner has co-sponsored the bill. Noticeably, Rep. Gutierrez supported the bill, which means Hispanic Caucus may not oppose it either, hopefully. So it was all good.

So everybody was on the same page, other than Ranking member King, whose job in such meetings is to oppose whatever the committee chair is proposing. Rep. King did not have much to say as Rep. The first point on the august visa bulletin says:
Allocations were made, to the extent possible under the numerical limitations, for the demand received by July 13th in the chronological order of the reported priority dates.

does this means a visa was allocated to all applications received by jun 13??

GC Life screwed me badly, couldn't file in EB2 2 times even though eligible because of a couple of idiots, only action item I can think for myself is re file in EB-2 which I am doing it very soon and have an appointment wirh Mr.Khanna tomorrow.

It is easy and potentially justifiable to feel some frustration. As it relates to the green card, I am in a similar situation to most who visit and share their views on this board.

Pankaj, the writeup is spot on except for the above. I am not sure it takes anyone in the EB category, 20 years to get the GC. It may happen in the future if retrogression is not fixed.
IMHO, it is important that we stick to facts when we write articles/op eds etc.
OK, I edited the text to make it clearer that 20-25 years applies only to some family based immigrants. Let me know if it reads OK (grammar etc.) after the edits.

To make things worse, those people in there are controlling the fates of thousands of waiting applicants. And they don't even seem to know the difference btw H1 and 485.
I don't want to just go on feeding this negative train of thought. I just wish something more effective can be done. Isn't there a better solution?

Only EB India /China /mexico/Philipines(ICMP) suffers the most for their GC's
EB ROW do not worry about GC process as much as ICMP. Their wait is not more then 2-3 years.
Its wrong to generalize that since ICMP's suffer , all other EB's suffer.
Its totally baseless to generalize that since ICMP's dont invest , go back to home countries due to GC , everybody does.
US does not gain from intelligent Indians only. There are PhD's and smart ppl from other countries as well.

Do not generalise all consulting companies...At least people working in these consulting companies sponsored GC and buying house and spending their money here. Most of the fradulent GC process was done by these croocked indian companies. They exploited the EB1C system to the maximum extend. Most of the times, they are not filing the GC and keep the employees as slaves or they exploit the EB1c fo their boot lickers.
Does anyone know such a bootlicker getting EB1c based GC? I wonder what a smart aleck that guy must been. There was a piece on NYT about India's penchant with lines and cutting lines by the uppity mongers..:D

Relax Buddy , now that the bus has come they will keep coming .Most of the people will go in this bus. The dates will retrogress for some time and will be current maybe next year . If not this bus then the next bus . No use raising your blood pressure for this . Attorneys and the media have a habit of scaring people unnecessarily . This Current date is not the end of the world , so take a chill pill ..
