After reading all these, got curious and checked status of my cases online after a year. I got a soft lud on my, my wife & son's case on 02/25. Something is definitely happening.
Sorry for being ignorant. How can we determine LUD (last update date) and what is meant my soft LUD ?

I am in a bind now, appreciate any advice,
I am planning on using my EAD to switch to another job in a couple of months. Meanwhile I have booked tickets for May 26th to send my son to India for the summer. He has H4 stamped in his passport valid till 2010.
My question is
**Can my son come back on H4 even though I use my EAD to change jobs ?
**Does he need to have advance parole ? Even if I apply for AP tomorrow, chances are very slim that he will get it before he leaves on May 26th.

If you switch Jobs, and you don't have your H1B transfered to the new employer this means your H1B is not valid. No your son can not entry the country on H4 he must use AP. But if you continue to work full time on H1B and work part time on EAD with another employer then he can come on H4.

- Had Labor + 140 approved in Dec, 99.
- tricked and lured by start-up in silicon valley. Abandoned everything and came to California in Jan, 2000 made the deadly mistake of not taking the copy of approved I-140 (I still slap myself every morning for that mistake ;) )
- Found out they have only one customer
- Founder wasted own 20 Million dollars but never increased the tally for the customer from 1
- "Startup" went under in 2002.
- Joined new company (the only customer of start-up) and filed labor in March, 2003 and enjoying every minute of it... :)

Hi All,
How much time total process takes I think case by case. In my case it took around a year( from request to sponsor Eb2 to I-140 approval (premium processing). I had no perm auditing. I had no RFE on I-140. I filed my EB2 with the same employer.

We have to differentiate ourselves from the illegals. Let the illegals do Rallies, Huger strikes etc.
I agree. All this Gandhigiri is not going to do anything. Guys lets just stick with lobbying and reduce what we ask for like I mentioned on another thread. As long as everyone gets SOME benefit we should be good.
Too much of these fasts and rallies is going to do just one thing, it will send a powerful message of the WRONG kind to the American people that "First they come on temporary work visas, then they forcefully demand Permanent residency". It will affect us even more when we go back for visa interviews and also new people coming here will have problems. Also, unfortunate but true, IV is still viewed as an organization For the Indians, By the Indians, even though this is Not true at all. If you add the whole Gandhigiri aspect to it, it will only add more fuel to the hate fire that most anti-immigrants now have against some of us Indians.
By all means let us send a card every week to the Senators and Congressmen asking for help. A nice personalized card to each one of them EVERY week. Other than that let us PLEASE not entertain thoughts of "non-co-operation" and "Hunger Strikes". Let us remember Gandhiji was fighting to get OUR OWN country back from the FOREIGN British Rule. all visa number (for FY-2007) are used up. They were made available to USCIS by DoS.

We should learn something from USCIS.. If they have worked hard for 48 hours on last weekend, we should work more this weekend and do whatever we can to help core members.

This would technically mean that anyone anywhere in the world now, who has ever been to the US on a H visa, can apply for a GC based on the first touchdown date.

I don't think that was an issue ever. Also keep in mind the new PIM process which is now part of visa stamping might delay things if you go to get a visa stamped

is it possible to send an email, probably daily once to all members about High Five ?
I feel that most of the members are not aware at this time. Usually when ever something is happening live at senate or congress, more members visit and follow the proceedings. Since there is nothing like that right now, i think it's time to communicate to all of'em.
Just a thought to increase the momentum. This is a great initiative indeed in this tough economy
By the way, i've mailed another check of $50 today morning, towards yesterday's target of $2000

I do not think CIS has that much smartness in them. Different sections seem to go about the motions on their own schedule. They seem to be an uncoordinated bunch so far.
How do you explain push for EAD approvals before June 30th? ppl got approvals in matter of days (in most cases less then 20 days)

EB3_NEPA, I'm pretty sure that's how it works. They first use the regular EB3 numbers available.
Black_logs are you ABSOLUTELY sure that they eat into the EB3 numbers? On the Visa Bulletin, they have a seperate entry below the EB3. Just curious if we are getting this Schedule A thing correctly
