I got the same message on 4th jan and received the AP documents from my employer today..probably it may take 10 days to receive from USCIS through Attorney/Employer..don't worry..you will receive on time...

But I don't have 4 weeks. I have to travel on january 29th.
Another thing is do I need to show on departure do I need to show the AP Approval. If I don't then if I leave US and my friend mail it to my place abroad is that ok as my USCIS online application status check system shows my I-131 approved on January 8 and mailed.
I am not a lawyer...but I have read in threads here that people have had their friends or family mail them the AP approval prior to coming back and had no problems getting in. I think this will be your best option.

I doubt how effective a letter campaign would be.
We did letter campaign's couple of times and it didn't bring any coverage or change.
I still believe a clock (backward or distorted) is a good idea.
It is not letter only, it is sending pamphlets along with the letters which is meant to put them to shame. (zero cost). Please see the sample pamphlets from my earlier posts.

I wish you have PD of 2001/2002. I had the same dream when I came here 8 years ago.
If you are new to US(1-3 years, from the spark in your statements, I feel you are.) with having PD 2003 or later, only the SKIL bill or CIR could rescue you. Othewise, you will be one among 1million in 2011 talking like us.
No I have been here longer. I have been here for more than 6 years now, went to school for 2.5 years and so do not have an older PD. I know I am going to be stuck in retro for quite some time unless congress does something about it. But I still have my dream and one day I will get my chance to have a go at it.

For me its about the higher prize...thats citizenship...
I want to be here for good unless asked to leave. But at times it frustrates me to think that I will be well over age of 40 when I get my green card (Assuming that nothing will happen to alleviate the retrogression issue)...
And I keep asking myself whether its worth the wait (Waiting for 10 or 15 years and working for same employer and same position) ... I think its a valid question.

Our immigration policy also must demand accountability from those who hire illegal workers by creating a national employee verification system that employers would be required to use to verify the legal status of their employees and imposing severe penalties for employers who hire illegal workers. The Department of Justice estimates that one in five federal prisoners, and more than one in ten state prisoners in Nevada, are non-U.S. citizens. That is why I support the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement initiatives that give state and local law enforcement the necessary tools to stem illegal behavior, such as the expansion of the Rapid Removal of Eligible Parolees Accepted for Transfer (REPAT) program. The REPAT program paroles non-violent criminal aliens serving state sentences so they can be deported. In Nevada, 2,560 criminal aliens were flagged for removal in Fiscal Year 2008 and 2,183 in Fiscal Year 2009. I have talked to a representative and he very patiently explained me about the mess.
He clearly and very clearly told me that they have a deadline to send all receipts for June end and July 2nd filers by friday (tomorrow) or worst case monday.
He mentioned that they are working hard to meet this deadline.
Hope this clears the anxiety.
Any updates for TSC who sent their applications to NSC??

IV Team,
I have been calling the list of Senators - and some of them say they do not support amnesty. I do talk about high skilled immigrants (from pappu's brief). My question is how do I make the distinction between the two groups without sounding that I am being against the undocumented?
Appreciate your help on this as I continue calling the Senators. Thanks
Thanks, we expect some of the offices will say this. There can be lot of answers to this question. One way to respond is -
"For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. I understand that the Senator is a champion for creating more jobs in America. Employment based green cards will create jobs in America. I want to start my own company and hire people in America. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.
I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration bill
giving more weight to green cards and creating jobs in America, or maybe the Senator could lead the effort for improving the proposal"

What a bunch of idiots, i swear this is WORSE than ANY of our home countries. Like I told my friend yesterday, atleast if the USCIS call center was based in India, the answers would have been consistent. They may have all been Wrong, but atleast they would be consistent.

If it is true then really its very good news and we can see 140 approvals soon.
Never take anything for granted esp with USCIS. Rumors are still rumors up until the time we see the action on part of USCIS to clear the backlogs. So for now, join this campaign and help yourself by putting pressure on USCIS to clear the I-140 backlogs.

I got my CA DL after moving from Missouri 4 years ago. they only ask for my out of state DL and SSN card. luckily my SSN card doesnt contain the "valid for work ..." stuff, only my name and ss number. I renewed my DL this year and got 5 years renewal by just showing only my DL to DMV...
Howz DL procedure in CA for 485 guys? I do not have H1B any my I-94 expired long time back. I have out of state licensce that expires in 2011 only. If I want to take CA DL, will it be a easy process? For how many years they give DL for 485 guys?

Since you don't know that EB-3 PD was Nov-2001 before it became unavailable it tells me that you are not EB-3 India.
